In order to have a possibly high genetic variety in the breeding programme, owners from all over the world donated their giant tortoises. However, if these cannot be clearly classified into one of the subspecies, they are not suitable for breeding.
These female specimens enjoy a carefree life in their own open-air enclosure. |
