Climate

The climate on the Galápagos Islands is not quite as hot despite their location close to the equator. This is due to two winds: the South Easterly relatively cool Humboldt current and the Westerly cold low-pressure system, the Cromwell current.

During the wet season (January till June), there is an average air temperature of 27 degrees Celsius and it is quite sunny. During the dry season temperatures average 21 degrees Celsius and it is often hazy.
